Dominic van Almsick, trading as The Canon is the controller of the personal data collected through thecanon.store. Email hello@thecanon.store with any question or request.
What we collect, and why
- Orders. Your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, and what you bought. We use them to take payment, have your prints made and delivered, and answer you. The legal basis is performing our contract with you.
- Records. We keep order records for six years, as UK tax law requires.
- Messages. If you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as we need it to help you.
We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Stripe takes payment and holds your card details; we never see them.
- theprintspace (creativehub) prints and delivers your order from London or Brooklyn, and passes your address to the carrier.
- Vercel hosts this website and keeps short-lived technical logs.
Some of these companies process data in the United States, under safeguards the UK recognises.
Cookies and storage
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or ad trackers. Your browser stores your cart and your choice of pounds or dollars on your own device, so the shop works; you can clear them at any time. Stripe’s checkout page sets its own cookies to prevent fraud.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it, subject to what the law requires us to keep. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
